Committee on Accessible Transportation
The Committee on Accessible Transportation (CAT) was formed in 1985 to advise the TriMet Board of Directors and staff on plans, policies and programs for seniors and people with disabilities.
Membership
CAT has 15 community members: seven seniors and/or people with disabilities who use TriMet, six representatives of seniors and/or people with disabilities andone local government representative, as well as one member of the TriMet Board of Directors. All CAT members are appointed by the TriMet Board president for a two-year term.
CAT responsibilities
Together with TriMet staff, CAT develops an annual work plan to identify major issues and prioritize the year's activities. The work plan helps CAT balance their work agenda with available time and determine subcommittee assignments.
CAT Work Sessions
The CAT Work Session meets monthly to review in detail issues assigned by the CAT Executive Committee and to develop recommendations to CAT for consideration at the CAT business meeting. These issues include service- and program-related areas involving TriMet's bus, MAX, WES and LIFT services.
CAT work session meetings may be canceled at times and the meeting time may be adjusted based on the number of agenda items. Please call 503-962-8200 or TTY 7-1-1 (8:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m. weekdays) to request a copy of the Work Session monthly meeting agenda and minutes. CAT meeting schedule
