Bus and MAX Service Cuts
Effective September 2009
To help offset the impact of the recession, TriMet is cutting some bus and MAX service effective September 2009.
Public feedback, along with analysis of ridership data, nearby service, transit equity issues and school/job access, helped shape the final service cut plan.
Additional cuts, in the form of minor bus frequency reductions, have been proposed to take effect in November.
Summary
4 bus lines will be discontinued: 41-Tacoma, 74-Lloyd District/Southeast, 86-Alderwood and 153-South End Rd Loop. These lines have low ridership (meaning they have fewer than 15 boarding rides per vehicle hour) and/or alternative service nearby.
