Here's what to expect from TriMet bus lines during snowy and icy weather. Conditions may change quickly, so be sure to check the Service Alerts page or call 503-238-RIDE (7433) for the latest snow route information.
Significant snow/ice conditions
When there is a significant accumulation of snow, ice or freezing rain, some buses will go on snow routes (see below) and others may be canceled entirely, depending on road conditions. Buses may not be able to serve parts of the route that are hilly or too dangerous to drive on. Conditions may change quickly, so be sure to check the Service Alerts page or call 503-238-RIDE for the latest snow route information.

Severe weather service plan
After two days of freezing temperatures with precipitation, we may reduce service to a select group of bus lines operating on plowed streets. By re-assigning buses where they are most useful and less likely to get stuck, we can serve more riders. Buses won't be on schedule, but they should be running at regular intervals as road conditions allow. Conditions may change quickly, so be sure to check the Service Alerts page or call 503-238-RIDE for the latest snow route information.
Following are the bus lines we plan to operate during severe snow/ice conditions. All other bus lines will be canceled.
