Trains testing now!

Trains are testing now between Wilsonville and Beaverton Transit Center. Trains are traveling at speeds up to 60 miles per hour—it's important for drivers and pedestrians to pay close attention. Stop. Look. Listen. Always expect a train.

Crews continue installing safety treatments throughout the alignment including fencing and signage.

Scope of construction

Approximately 14 miles of track and 14 rail crossings have been reconstructed. Commuter Rail construction includes:

  • Five rail stations
  • Park & Ride lots
  • A vehicle maintenance and storage facility
  • Installation of a modern signal system
  • Secondary tracks in Beaverton, Tigard and Wilsonville, allowing the Commuter Rail and freight trains to pass each other

Connecting commuter rail with MAX and bus service

Commuter rail will connect with MAX and bus service at the Beaverton Transit Center. To make this connection, a 2,000-foot spur track is being constructed along SW Lombard Avenue from SW Farmington Road to the transit center. Construction to add the track and realign Lombard Avenue will occur at the same time.
