Bicycling to Work
Cyclists can bring their bikes on all TriMet buses and MAX trains.
Facilities for cyclists
Most businesses already have facilities such as restrooms or locker rooms where bike commuters can change and store their clothes. Whatever facilities your company has, be sure to let your employees know it's okay to use them for bike commuting or walking.
Many TriMet MAX stations and transit centers have high-security bike lockers available on a monthly basis. Most also have free bike racks or bike lids (self-service covered racks). If bike storage is limited at your worksite or MAX trains are very crowded during the cyclist's commute time, bike lockers or racks can be a great option.
Financial incentives
Offering a bike or walking subsidy is a great way to encourage bike commuting or walking and it usually generates only a small cost for your company. A typical subsidy might be a gift certificate for bike maintenance and supplies, or a monthly cash amount. Your company may also be eligible for tax breaks related to bike commuting.
