Ticket Machine Out of Order?

Don't give up just yet…

Photo of ticket machine at MAX station

We realize it's a hassle when a machine is out of order. We've stepped up our maintenance efforts to reduce breakdowns, and we've replaced about 60 of our oldest machines with more reliable card-only machines. If you encounter a broken machine, don't give up just yet... There may be other ways you can purchase your fare:

Try another form of payment

If the machine isn't accepting debit/credit cards, it may still be accepting bills and coins. (If the machine is labeled "Card Only," try a different machine.)
