MAX Emergency Instructions
In the event of an emergency that requires evacuating a MAX train, please follow our simple rules. Your best protection in an emergency is to remain calm, think clearly and follow the instructions of TriMet personnel.
Always report emergencies to TriMet personnel and listen for announcements and instructions.
Fire
- Follow instructions from TriMet personnel or emergency responders
- Exit from the vehicle
Medical
- If a passenger is in distress, notify TriMet personnel immediately
- If you are medically qualified and able to assist, identify yourself
Police
- Report any unlawful or suspicious activity to TriMet personnel or call 9-1-1
Emergency evacuation
- Follow instructions from TriMet personnel and emergency responders
- Follow the instructions posted at the doors on how to open doors in an emergency evacuation
