TriMet adds service during Rose Festival parades
TriMet will add extra MAX and bus service for the Starlight and Grand Floral parades. For the first time ever, MAX will run through downtown during the Grand Floral Parade.
TriMet staff will assist riders during both parades at major MAX stations and downtown.
Starlight Parade highlights
During the Starlight Parade on Saturday, June 4, Blue and Yellow MAX trains will continue to run through downtown. Service highlights:
- Blue Line trains will run every 15 minutes until 11:30 p.m. Just before and after the parade, service will increase to about every 10 minutes. The last trains will leave Pioneer Square stations at 1:32 a.m.
- Yellow Line trains will run every 20 minutes between Expo Center and Beaverton Transit Center, starting about 7:30 p.m. until 11:30 p.m. The last Yellow Line train will leave Pioneer Square North Station at 12:35 a.m.
- Red Line trains will run only between Gateway Transit Center and the airport from about 7 p.m. until the end of service. If traveling to the airport, take a Blue Line train to Gateway and transfer to the Red Line.
Express buses
Express buses will be added to relieve MAX passenger loads. Before the parade buses will express riders from Gateway Transit Center to SW 5th & Pine. After the parade buses will stop on 1st Avenue at Oak/SW 1st Ave and Skidmore Fountain stations and travel express to Gateway Transit Center.
More bus service
Extra Saturday service before and after the parade will be added to six bus lines:
- 4-Division
- 4-Fessenden
- 12-Barbur Blvd
- 14-Hawthorne
- 33-McLoughlin
- 54-Beaverton-Hillsdale Hwy
Grand Floral Parade highlights
During the Grand Floral Parade on Saturday, June 11, extra bus service will be provided and MAX will continue to run downtown for the first time. Service highlights:
- Blue Line trains will run every 15 minutes. Just before and after the parade service will increase to about every 10 minutes. The last trains will leave Pioneer Courthouse Square stations at 1:32 a.m.
- Yellow Line trains will run every 20 minutes between Expo Center and Beaverton Transit Center from about 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
- MAX Red Line trains will travel only between Gateway Transit Center and the airport from about 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. If traveling to the airport, take a MAX Blue Line train to Gateway and transfer to the Red Line.
Express buses
Express buses will relieve MAX passenger loads. Before the parade buses will express riders from Gateway Transit Center to SW 5th & Pine. After the parade express buses will serve all MAX stations on NE Holladay Street and then run express to Gateway.

TriMet is adding early Saturday morning service on nine lines before the parade:
