New service in store for Line 39-Lewis & Clark
Six-month trial extension to begin June 4
After working with neighborhood associations and others TriMet will begin a six-month trial extension of Line 39 to Hillsdale. The agency has been meeting with the community to develop alternatives to Line 39-Lewis & Clark to help boost ridership.
"Over the last year, TriMet has worked with neighborhood associations, business groups, Lewis and Clark College and nearby residents and riders to look at ways to improve ridership on Line 39," said TriMet General Manager Fred Hansen. "We're hopeful that adding service to Hillsdale will boost ridership."
New service along Line 39-Lewis & Clark route
- New service to Hillsdale will be added on Bertha and Capitol Hwy, returning to Burlingame via Terwilliger.
- The buses will now layover on the Lewis & Clark campus and provide direct service to the Templeton Student Center.
- The Burlingame stop on Bertha at Barbur will not be served; instead buses will stop on Barbur, southbound in front of the Fred Meyer store.
- The buses will now run both directions on Terwilliger between Taylors Ferry Rd and Palater Rd, and will no longer run on Boones Ferry or Palatine Hill Rd from Boones Ferry to Palater.
The new schedule will be adjusted with buses running every 45 minutes every day.
The agency will continue to work with community representatives to monitor the performance of the line and make recommendations about the line based on ridership.
