TriMet continues ice cap installation in Gresham

Buses shuttle riders to last 4 stations until 11 a.m. Saturday

TriMet's ongoing winter storm enhancements mean shuttle buses will carry Gresham MAX riders on Saturday morning, Aug. 26. Ice cap is being installed on overhead wires during the service disruption. Delays should be less than five minutes.

Beginning with the start of Saturday service, buses will carry riders to the last four stations between Rockwood TC/E 188th Ave and Cleveland Ave stations until about 11 a.m. on Saturday, when regular MAX service will resume.

TriMet is spending $285,000 for ice caps this year, which is designed to help prevent ice build up on MAX overhead power wires during winter storms. The cap also will be installed from the Steel Bridge to NE 82nd Ave Station.

The work is being done when ridership is relatively light, with most of the installation performed after MAX service ends Friday night.
