Sunday's races cause minor TriMet delays downtown

Cascade Runoff 8-11 a.m. on July 23

The Cascade Runoff will delay TriMet MAX and bus service in downtown Portland Sunday morning, July 23. Delays of five to 10 minutes are expected from about 8 a.m. until the end of the races at 11 a.m.

MAX

MAX will face five- to 10-minute delays, but trains will be flagged through gaps in the race.

Buses

More than a dozen bus lines also will be affected as they go through downtown Portland, with delays of five to 10 minutes. Additionally:

  • Three bus lines that cross the Burnside Bridge (12-Sandy, 19-Woodstock & 20-Burnside/Stark) will be detoured over the Steel Bridge.
  • Buses running on SW Barbur Blvd and on SW Harrison will be delayed due to lane reductions for the race.
  • Temporary bus stops will be placed within a block or two of downtown detoured bus lines.
  • In order to keep the 8-Jackson Park line on schedule, a shuttle bus will be provided to OHSU during the event.
