TriMet runs uninterrupted MAX & bus service for Starlight Parade

Regular service keeps riders moving on second busiest day

For the first time, TriMet will run regular MAX and bus service for the Starlight parade on June 3. Last year, TriMet carried approximately 230,000 rides during Starlight Parade day, about 20 percent more than an average Saturday. By providing the regular MAX and bus service, TriMet is making it easier for riders wanting to attend the parade or just get through the city.

Starlight Parade highlights

MAX Blue, Red and Yellow line trains will continue to run through downtown during the parade. All MAX stations will be open. MAX will run on Saturday schedules, with increased frequency between Gateway Transit Center and Beaverton Transit Center until midnight.

Bus service

Buses will run on Saturday schedules.

Portland Streetcar service

Portland Streetcar will stop running about 6:30 p.m. through the end of the parade. After the parade service will resume, running until about 12:30 a.m. TriMet staff will assist riders during both parades at major MAX stations and downtown.

Bike & Ride to the parade

TriMet is offering more options for cyclists during the Rose Festival when MAX trains will be full. Attended bicycle parking will be offered during the Starlight parade. Volunteers from the Bicycle Transportation Alliance will keep an eye on your ride during the parade if you lock it at the Beaverton or Hollywood transit centers.
