MAX ice cap installation continues in Gresham

Buses shuttle riders to last 4 stations until 11 a.m. Saturday

Shuttle buses will carry Gresham MAX riders Saturday morning, Oct. 14, while ice cap is installed on overhead wires as part of TriMet's ongoing winter storm enhancements. Minor delays should be expected.

During the installation, buses will carry riders to the last four stations between Rockwood TC/E 188th Ave and Cleveland Ave stations until about 11 a.m. on Saturday, when regular MAX service will resume.

TriMet is spending $285,000 for ice cap this year, which is designed to help prevent ice build up on MAX overhead power wires during winter storms.

The work is being done after MAX service ends Friday night and while ridership is relatively light Saturday morning in order to have the least impact on riders.
