Washington County Commuter Rail construction continues in Beaverton
Scholls Ferry Road will have weekend closure
Intersection reconstruction on the 14.7-mile Washington County Commuter Rail line continues in February with a weekend closure in Beaverton. Crews will remove existing rail, install new rail and resurface the intersection at SW Scholls Ferry Road.
SW Scholls Ferry Road
Work will close the intersection from Friday, Feb. 23rd at 8 p.m. to Monday, Feb. 26th at 5 a.m. Traffic will be detoured around the construction zones using SW Hall Blvd and SW Nimbus Ave. Motorists can expect some delays.
What’s next
Two intersections in Beaverton will be closed for reconstruction in March:
- SW 5th St - March 9th - 12th
- SW Hall Blvd - March 23rd - 26th
Other intersections closures will occur April, May, July, November and December.
About the project
Washington County Commuter Rail will use existing freight tracks to provide commuter rail service to Beaverton, Tigard, Tualatin and Wilsonville when it opens in September 2008. It is the first commuter rail line in Oregon, and among a handful of suburb-to-suburb commuter lines in the country. When complete it will connect to the Beaverton Transit Center with nearly a dozen bus lines, and MAX Blue and Red lines as well as bus service at each station.
