TriMet holds open houses

Events highlight I-205 Light Rail Project

TriMet will host a series of open houses to highlight the I-205 Light Rail Project. The project will add 6.5-miles of track and eight stations between the Gateway Transit Center and Clackamas Town Center. Light rail construction begins in late February and when complete, the line will connect Clackamas Town Center with downtown Portland and Portland State University.

I-205/Portland Mall MAX Light Rail Project:

The 8.3-mile I-205/Portland Mall MAX light rail project is TriMet’s fifth rail extension. It will add light rail between Gateway Transit Center and Clackamas Town Center, and on 5th and 6th avenues between Union Station and PSU. When it opens in September 2009, it will be the first light rail extension into Clackamas County, help revitalize the Portland Mall, serve the heart of downtown Portland to PSU and poise the region for future MAX extensions.

The I-205/Portland Mall project is a partnership between the city of Portland, Metro, TriMet, Clackamas County and the Oregon Department of Transportation.
