Washington County Commuter Rail construction continues in February
Three intersections have weekend closures
Intersection reconstruction on the 14.7-mile Washington County Commuter Rail line continues in February with closures on two weekends. Crews will remove existing rail, install new rail and resurface the intersections at SW 95th and SW Teton avenues in Tualatin and SW Scholls Ferry Rd in Beaverton.
SW 95th & SW Teton:
Work will close these intersections from Friday, Feb. 2nd at 7 p.m. to Monday, Feb. 5th at 5 a.m. Traffic will be detoured around the construction zones using SW Avery and SW Tualatin-Sherwood Rd. Motorists can expect minor delays.
SW Scholls Ferry Rd:
Work will close this intersection from Friday, Feb. 23rd at 7 p.m. to Monday, Feb 26th at 5 a.m. Traffic will be detoured around the construction zones using SW Hall Blvd and SW Nimbus. Motorists can expect minor delays.
What's next:
Two intersections in Beaverton will be closed for reconstruction in March:
- SW 5th St. on March 9th - 12th
- SW Hall Blvd. on March 23rd - 26th
Other intersections closures will occur June, July, November and December.
About the project:
Washington County Commuter Rail will use existing freight tracks to provide commuter rail service to Beaverton, Tigard, Tualatin and Wilsonville when it opens in September 2008. It is the first commuter rail line in Oregon, and among a handful of suburb-to-suburb commuter lines in the country. When complete it will connect to the Beaverton Transit Center with nearly a dozen bus lines, and MAX Blue and Red lines as well as bus service at each station.
