Champ Car Rocks the Streets featuring the TriMet Pit Stop Demonstration

The streets of downtown Portland will reverberate with sounds of the Grand Prix on June 7 as Champ Car Rocks the Streets. Race fans can experience Pit Stop Demonstrations and block party at SW 6th and Oak.

4:30 - 9 p.m.
SW 6th and Oak at Unico Plaza

The Champ Cars will start up and accelerate in a drive to the “pit lane” on SW 6th. Then demonstrate lightning fast tire changes to get the car back in the “race”. The event will feature Pacific Coast Motorsports performing two Pit Stop Demonstrations, Formula Drift Teams, live bands, a beer garden and food.

The Mazda Champ Car Grand Prix of Portland presented by Joe’s Sports and Outdoor runs June 8-10 at Portland International Raceway. The Oregon Sports Authority Advisory Council, Young Professionals of Oregon and Oregon Active present the pit stop demonstration.
