Rose Festival Fleet arrivals cause transit delays

Ships Arrive June 6 & 7

Eight ships coming to Portland for the Rose Festival may mean MAX and bus delays up to 10 minutes on Wednesday and Thursday, June 6 and 7. On Wednesday four ships are scheduled to arrive in 15-minute intervals starting at 3 p.m. The remaining four ships will arrive on Thursday with one ship each scheduled at 3 and 4 p.m. and the other two ships arriving at 6 and 6:30 p.m.

During the lifts, all MAX trains (Blue, Red and Yellow lines) may need to drop riders at the Old Town/Chinatown and Rose Quarter Transit Center stations. Shuttle buses will be available to take MAX riders across the river, but they will have limited options if several bridges are raised at the same time. TriMet staff will assist riders at the Old Town and Rose Quarter stations.

All ships will be departing the harbor on Monday, June 11th. Most are schedule to leave Portland between 6 and 8 a.m. The final two ships will leave following rush hour at 10 a.m. Riders can expect 5 - 10 minute delays due to bridge lifts.
