TriMet introduces TriMet TV

Agency among a handful of transit districts featuring on-line video

TriMet has launched TriMet TV as a new way to communicate with riders. TriMet TV provides relevant and timely features about transit programs, services and amenities on trimet.org and portlandmall.org. The downloadable video podcasts will also be available on third-party websites YouTube and iTunes, and on TV monitors in the Portland Mall Information Center.

“TriMet TV is a new way to reach our riders in a fun and easy format,” said Carolyn Young, TriMet’s Executive Director of Communications and Technology. “By taking advantage of web-based technology, we can share timely news and information about TriMet services and programs.”

Live Portland Mall construction camera

TriMet also launched a new Portland Mall live construction camera. The camera is located on the roof of Pioneer Courthouse and sends a live video stream at 36 frames-per-minute of construction activity through portlandmall.org. For the next six months it will feature footage of light rail construction at SW 6th Avenue at Yamhill. In addition, the camera takes still photos every 15 minutes, which are archived and will be used in time-lapse videos for the Portland Mall Information Center.
