TriMet adds service for Race for the Cure

More MAX & buses on busy lines

TriMet will add early morning trains and extra bus service to help riders get to the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure at the Waterfront Park on Sunday, Sept. 23.

Extra MAX service on the Blue Line will begin at 6 a.m., with trains running every 15 minutes. Red and Yellow line trains will all be double cars to add capacity for the event.

Based on ridership projections, these bus lines will run more often to downtown from 5:45 a.m. until 9 a.m., when regular service will resume:

  • 4-Fessenden
  • 33-McLoughlin
  • Bus shuttles will also run into downtown from the Sunset Transit Center, Gateway Transit Center and Lloyd Center/NE 11th Ave Station

Plan extra time

During the event bus riders should add an extra 10 minutes during their Sunday morning trips. Numerous bus stops will be closed in downtown and NW Portland with signs directing riders to nearby available stops.

Regular TriMet fares apply.
