TriMet Appoints New Senior Manager for

Transportation Operations

Peggy Hanson will run all day-to-day bus and rail operations

TriMet has promoted Peggy Hanson to senior manager for Transportation Operations. This number two position for the department will supervise all day-to-day bus and MAX operations. Hanson will oversee 1,600 MAX and bus operators and five operation facilities.

Hanson, who has been with the agency for more than 22 years, is now the highest-ranking woman in transportation. She will direct daily and special event services, field and command center operations and operator training. She will also be responsible for labor relations and performance management.

"Over the years Peggy has proven to be a strong leader and her dedication has helped TriMet deliver safe, reliable and innovative service," said TriMet General Manager Fred Hansen. "She is a great asset to the team."

Hanson began her career with TriMet in 1985 as a bus operator and has held several management positions in Field Operations and System Security. Hanson lives in southwest Portland.
