Commuter rail construction impacts traffic on SW Tualatin Rd

Crews re-profiling roadway October 24-26

TriMet WES Commuter Rail construction will close SW Tualatin Rd at the railroad tracks near Tualatin Park over the weekend for re-profiling. The intersection will be closed at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 24 and will reopen to traffic at 5 a.m. Monday, Oct. 27. Crews will work 24 hours per day. Flaggers and signs will direct traffic around construction.

Detours

  • Northbound: Take SW Boones Ferry Road to SW Martinazzi Road to SW Tualatin-Sherwood Road to SW 90th Avenue to SW Tualatin Road.
  • Westbound: Take SW Boones Ferry Road to SW Tualatin-Sherwood Road to SW 90th Avenue to SW Tualatin Road.
  • Eastbound: Take SW Tualatin Road to SW 90th to SW Tualatin-Sherwood Road to SW Boones Ferry Road.

Trains testing now

Trains are testing now between Wilsonville and Beaverton Transit Center. Trains are traveling at speeds up to 60 miles per hour-it's important for drivers and pedestrians to pay close attention. Stop. Look. Listen. Always expect a train. Railroad tracks are private property; trespassing on the tracks is illegal and carries fines up to $6,250 and up to a one year in jail.

The 14.7-mile WES (Westside Express Service) is the first commuter rail line in Oregon and will serve the cities of Beaverton, Tigard, Tualatin and Wilsonville with weekday rush hour service when it opens on Feb. 2, 2009. It will connect to the Beaverton Transit Center with 11 bus lines and MAX Blue and Red lines, as well as bus service at each station, including Wilsonville's SMART system, which provides bus service to Salem.
