TriMet moves buses off of 3rd & 4th avenues for Portland Marathon

Bus and MAX delays expected on Oct. 5

On Sunday, Oct. 5, the Portland Marathon will cause delays for MAX and 31 bus lines running in downtown and N/NE Portland from the start of service until approximately 5 p.m. Numerous bus stops will be closed during the event with signs directing riders to nearby stops.

TriMet impacts

  • Bus riders should expect up to 15 minute delays; MAX riders should expect 10-15 minute delays.
  • Northbound buses on SW 4th Ave will be rerouted to 10th Ave between SW Clay and Yamhill streets.
  • Southbound buses on SW 3rd Ave will be rerouted to SW 1st Ave between SW Alder and Jefferson streets.
