TriMet proposes increase for adult fares and youth monthly passes
April 26, 2011
TriMet is proposing a fare increase of 5-cents for Adult single-ride tickets and $4 for Adult monthly passes; all other fixed route cash fares remain unchanged. A $1 increase in youth monthly passes is also proposed. The increase helps offset the additional cost of providing service and rising diesel prices, as well as helps provide some service restoration to respond to overcrowding.
The first reading of the 5-cent fare increase proposal will be part of the regular board business meeting. The monthly meeting will be held on Wednesday, April 27, at 5:30 p.m. at the Portland Building, 1120 SW 5th Avenue, Room C. The board is expected to vote on the proposal at its May 25 meeting. [Due to scheduling issues, the May 25 meeting has been rescheduled to June 8.]
