Public hearing scheduled on Boring area petition to withdraw from the TriMet district

A public hearing will be held on Thursday, Nov. 3, to take public comment on a petition to withdraw the Boring, Oregon area (an unincorporated area in Clackamas County) from the TriMet district.

The hearing will be held on Thursday, Nov. 3, at 7:00 p.m. at the Naas Elementary School, 12240 S.E. School Avenue in Boring. Anyone may present written and/or oral testimony at the hearing.

Comments may be submitted in advance of the public hearing until 5 p.m. on Wed., Nov. 2:

The TriMet Board of Directors will take final action on the withdrawal petition by December 31, 2011. If approved, the withdrawal would take effect on January 1, 2013.

Background on Boring area transit service

The Boring area is currently served by Line 84-Kelso/Boring with limited weekday service during the morning and evening commutes, as well as by LIFT paratransit service. LIFT provides door-to-door service for people with disabilities unable to ride regular fixed-route service.
