Lines 39, 44, 45, 54, 55, 56, 65 and 92 impacted by bridge repair; shuttle bus available to transport riders around blocked road
Eight bus lines–lines 39, 44, 45, 54, 55, 56 ,65 and 92–are being rerouted around a city of Portland transportation maintenance project on SW Capitol Hwy from SW Terwilliger Boulevard to SW Barbur Boulevard for two weeks. There will be delays from 15 to 45 minutes while the eight lines operate on reroutes.
Shuttle buses are available to provide riders a more direct route around the construction during morning and evening rush hours.
Shuttle buses
- Shuttle buses will pick up riders at the following stops: Capitol Hwy at Idaho, Nebraska, Sunset, Beaverton Hillsdale Hwy, Terwilliger, Bertha and Chestnut, and temporary stop at Bertha and Vermont.
- Shuttle buses will drop riders off on Barbur Boulevard where they can catch their normal buses.
- The shuttle starts at Burlingame Transit Center and will use Bertha Boulevard to get around the closed connection ramp and bridge on Capitol Hwy.
- Shuttles are available 6:30 to 9:30 a.m. and 3:30 to 6 p.m. weekdays only through September 25.
Reroutes
Buses and all other traffic on Capitol Hwy are being rerouted due to closed eastbound lanes on the Slavin Hill connection ramp for the two week construction time period.
Riders on lines 39, 44, 45, 54, 55, 56, 65 and 92 may experience 15-minute delays due to traffic backups during off-peak hours and 30-minute delays during rush hour.
Crews are performing deck maintenance work on the connection ramp to northbound SW Barbur Boulevard, closing eastbound lanes of SW Capitol Hwy to all traffic. For more information about the project, visit www.portlandonline.com/transportation.
