Contest rules
TriMet’s Name that train! contest is open to adults 18 years of age and over who are residents of Multnomah, Clackamas or Washington counties. No purchase necessary to win. Names, addresses and email addresses are collected for the purpose of giving photo credit and notifying contest winners. TriMet does not sell or rent personal information; however, contestants should be aware that TriMet is a public agency and personal information provided to TriMet may be disclosed in accordance with public records laws. See the TriMet Privacy Policy for further details. Contest entries must be submitted online online at trimet.org or delivered or mailed to: TriMet, Name That Train Contest, 4012 SE 17th Ave., Portland, OR 97202 or by delivery of an entry form to any other location designated by TriMet for that purpose. Entries will not be accepted by phone. All entries become the property of TriMet. All decisions of the judges are final and binding in all respects. If more than one contestant submits the winning entry, all contestants who submitted the winning entry will be entered in a grand prize drawing conducted by TriMet personnel from which one grand prize winner will be randomly selected. The grand prize winner will receive one TriMet Annual Pass valued at $836. Only one grand prize will be awarded. All contestants who submitted a winning entry will be awarded an invitation for two people to participate in a Commuter Rail preview ride. There will also be a drawing among all contestants in which 100 people will each be awarded an invitation for two people to participate in a Commuter Rail preview ride. All entries must be received at TriMet no later than 5 p.m. on Monday, October 1, 2007. Contest winners will be notified by email, telephone or mail by November 1, 2007. Use or nonuse of the winning entry by TriMet will be at TriMet’s sole discretion. If potential winner(s) cannot be contacted, does not respond within five days, or TriMet’s notification is returned as undeliverable, such potential winner(s) forfeits all rights to any prize, and an alternate winner(s) may be selected. There is no limit to the number of times a person may enter the contest; however, only one name suggestion per entry will be allowed. All contestants may be required to sign an affidavit of eligibility and agree to allow his or her name and likeness to be used for promotional purposes. All income taxes are the responsibility of the winner. TriMet assumes no liability for lost, late, or misdirected entries or for any computer, online, telephone, cable, electronic, software, hardware, transmission, connection, Internet, accessibility or other access issue that might hinder the ability of any participant to enter the contest. TriMet reserves the rights to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the contest if necessary for technical reasons including computer viruses, bugs, tampering and other technical failures. Employees and principals of TriMet are not eligible to enter. TriMet will not be liable for typographical errors in these Rules or other promotional materials relating to the contest.
