MAX Green Line Grand Opening Saturday, September 12, 2009

Free rides on the Green Line, 11:30 a.m. through the end of service day

There will be entertainment for all ages at Clackamas Town Center, Pioneer Courthouse Square, Lents Town Center, Fuller and Main Street stations from 11:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. More

Fall service changes

Starting this fall, there will be changes to MAX and bus service. Some of these changes are a result of service cuts that were proposed in February and approved in May of this year.

  • MAX service changes effective August 30
  • MAX Green Line service begins September 13
  • Bus service changes effective September 13

 

MAX Green Line scheduled service starts September 13

The Green Line will run every 15 minutes from 6 a.m.-7 p.m. on weekdays, and 10:30 a.m.-6 p.m. on weekends. During the early morning and evening hours, trains will run every 30 minutes. More

MAX Green Line features easy connections

Between Clackamas Town Center and Gateway, the Green Line will serve eight new stations and five Park & Ride lots with a combined 2,300 parking spaces. The Green Line makes it easy to connect with 19 bus lines at I-205 stations. More

Over the last two years, the Portland Transit Mall has undergone major renovations. While we were laying tracks and building stations for MAX Green Line, we made a number of improvements along 5th and 6th avenues. More

Public art

Portland Transit Mall

Stations downtown feature past Portland Mall art sculptures in addition to the approximately 10 new sculptures that create a comprehensive collection of regional art in downtown.

Along I-205

At each station along the new 6.5-mile extension between Gateway and Clackamas Town Center, seven artists were commissioned to create wayfinding sculptures in addition to windscreen art glass designed by Kim Hamblin. More
