Commuting on TriMet?

Here are four easy tips that will help make it a smooth and speedy ride.

First, be ready to board with the correct fare. On the bus, you can pay with cash, but remember, operators cannot give change. Before boarding Max, buy a ticket from the machine at the station. Or from any TriMet ticket outlet.

In the priority seating area, located near the door, you are required to move for seniors and people with disabilities. Even if you have a stroller or bike, you'll need to move from this area when someone needs it. It makes a big difference for riders who aren't able to stand or walk easily.

Be sure to move aside for people getting on or off the vehicle, and make sure you're not blocking the aisle or doorway. This includes strollers and bikes. Fold your stroller after boarding, and store bags and other belongings on your lap or under the seat.

And finally, go with the flow! This makes it easier for others to board, and helps the operator stay on schedule.

When you're riding the bus, exit through the rear door whenever possible.

We want your trips on TriMet to be fast, easy and comfortable. With your help, everyone can enjoy the ride!
